Mail provides a junk mail filter that automatically identifies and handles junk mail. The filter’s default settings catch most of the junk messages you receive, but you can customize it as you need.
To change the junk mail filter:
- Choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Junk Mail.
- Specify which actions Mail should perform when junk mail arrives:
- When you want to verify what the Mail is identifying as junk mail, select the “Mark as junk mail, but leave it in my Inbox” checkbox.
- When you are sure the filter accurately identifies junk mail, select the “Move it to the Junk mailbox” checkbox.
- To set up other actions, select the “Perform custom actions” checkbox and then click the Advanced button. In the dialog that appears, click Add (+) buttons to add conditions and actions. To remove a condition or action, click its Remove (-) button.

AOL has decided to end development and support for Netscape according to this MacWorld article.
And I say… good riddance.
Sorry, Netscape IMO, has been the absolute WORST browser/email program for the Mac. I’ve been supporting Mac users for years and I’ve continued to recommend other solutions instead of Netscape. Now don’t get me wrong, back in the early days of Netscape (OS 8 and OS 9) I could tolerate it and honestly there wasn’t much of a choice for us back then… Internet Explorer (ick) or Netscape (ugh). (I was happy to see IE get taken off the dance card a couple years ago as well.)
